Leave your hotel or Riad around 9:00 am direction Imlil, Take advantage of the stops on the road to take pictures, Visit Berber villages Discover the gorges of Moulay Brahim Enjoy a traditional meal, take tea Go hiking in a beautiful valley nestled in the mountains of the High Atlas and return to Marrakech at the end of the day
Discover the High Atlas Mountains and enjoy an amazing trip to the foot of Jbel Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa with 4167m. Your final destination, the Imlil valley, guarantees a choice of diversified trekking tours, each more beautiful than the other.
From Marrakech, you reach Imlil through the Moulay Brahim gorges and through the Asni valley in the heart of the Moroccan high Atlas. There, you already reach the 1000 meters of altitude. It is the promise of a little freshness and impressive views of Mount Toukbal.
The road also crosses fantastic authentic Berber villages nestled in the high atlas. The opportunity to visit the souk, provided that your trekking tour Imlil, coincides with a market day (Tuesday in Tahannaout, Saturday in Asni). Continuing, a succession of exceptional panoramas will lead you to your destination.
In Imlil, your guide will accompany you to a traditional restaurant to taste the typical Berber dishes. Then, you will go for a hike on foot or by mule: breathtaking landscapes and small Berber terraced villages are to be discovered during your Imlil trekking excursion.
It is the longest and the highest of the three folds that form the Atlas massif. It culminates at 4167 m at the jbel Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. In the High Atlas, the Marrakchis enjoy winter sports and come to seek the coolness when the plain is consumed by the heat of the summer sun.
Villages of earth totally preserved cling to the sides of the mountain of the high atlas along the road which, in rainy weather, becomes impassable from the passage of the wadi N'Fis. A rough and bewitching landscape. We join the road of the Berber village Asni a few kilometers before Ouirgane.
Charming hamlet, it is located on the edge of the National Park of Toubkal whose summit rises to 4165 meters, and is the ideal starting point for hiking in the High Atlas. The French Alpine Club has a refuge there.
Hiking tours, from two to ten or fifteen days, allow to appreciate, on foot, on mule or on skis, in winter, the magnificent mountainous landscapes punctuated with villages. The Tagherghout reserve, northwest of the Toukbal National Park, is the domain of birds - golden eagles, falcons, vultures - mouflons and wild boars.
It was a great day
It was a great day with Said. We travelled in a comfortable and practical vehicle with good music and good discussions. A beautiful place and a change of scenery.
A very good day discovering the Berber villages. Guides and drivers very attentive and professional. Congratulations to them!
We had a great trip. Imlil is beautiful and we enjoyed the most amazing tagine on a terrace overlooking the Atlas Mountains and the valley. The market in Imlil is lovely, the people are friendly and the atmosphere is much more relaxed than in Marrakech. Our driver Adil was great, he is really friendly, knows the area well and wanted it to be a good experience for us (we shared bread and tea in a local market on the way). We went as friends.
