Two and a half hours from Marrakech, the most beautiful waterfalls of Morocco await you. Opt for a comfortable private excursion from your hotel or Riad for a green and refreshing day to discover the green Morocco.
The Ouzoud waterfalls are the highest waterfalls in Morocco. 110 m high, they are located in a preserved environment of the Middle Atlas, about 150 km from Marrakech.
The fascinating site can be discovered after a walk through the olive groves. The noise increases until you finally see the waterfalls topped by a rainbow. The panorama is magical.
During this Ouzoud waterfall day in the heart of the Berber country, you can indulge in the joy of swimming, or take a small raft that will take you to the other side where you will have the choice between many traditional restaurants for your lunch.
You will be able to taste a tagine with a panoramic view on the Ouzoud waterfall.
You can also take an old wooden bridge to explore the small Berber village of Ouzoud and meet the villagers to discover the Berber culture and hospitality.
The Middle Atlas offers another face of Morocco. Inhabited since Antiquity, its fertile plains favored the blossoming of neighboring cities.
It is in its cedar forests that the craftsmen came to seek their raw material for the ceilings of the palaces. Today, they are a joy for walkers, as are the tormented gorges of the mountains at the gates of the High Atlas.
The road that leads to the Ouzoud waterfall follows a valley that narrows in places on the hillsides, here and there, adobe houses form dark red spots. Admire the 110 m high waterfall, go and see from the top of the waterfalls the multiple canalized streams that turn the barley and wheat mills, or observe the small monkeys of the Middle Atlas of the macaque race; or drink a mint tea or taste a good Berber tagine, in one of the restaurants in terrace which offers panoramic sight of the falls.
I loved it!!!! the guide was very friendly, the site was spectacular, the recommendation to get on the boats is 20 dirhams and they take you right below the casacada. The food is delicious, they serve a menu with a refreshing salad and a choice of vegetable or chicken tagine, or grilled chicken skewers with chips, fruit for dessert and a drink included for 50 Dijams.
A trip as described. It seems to be one of the favourite places for Moroccan families to spend a hot day, cooking and having fun. I was surprised that several tourists complained that they expected more exclusivity and less interaction with the locals. For me, seeing these dynamics is part of travelling to an unknown country.
A great walk and an exceptional guide. Wonderful natural surroundings and learn a bit more about Morocco.
The journey from Marreksh to the waterfalls took well over an hour. The bus was of a very good standard. I would recommend it
