Ourika valley day trip description :

  • The departure of the excursion is directly from your hotel or Riad around 9:30 am.
  • In the direction of the High Atlas, stops are planned on the way so that you can take pictures and admire the
  • landscapes of the Berber villages.
  • The visit of the Berber village of Ourika is free. Mondays and Fridays are Berber market days. You will be able to have a tea at the inhabitant's and visit a traditional Berber house.
  • Free lunch in one of the traditional restaurants located at the edge of the wadi of the Ourika valley.
  • Possibility to go to the small waterfalls of Seti Fatma with a mountain guide included in your visit. The level of hiking is easy.

Highlights of this experience :

The Ourika valley and the Setti-Fatma waterfall.

The road begins to climb in the mountain at the height of Dar Caid-Ouriki whose Berber souk takes place on Monday at Thnine l'Ourika. Picturesque, it follows the course of the oued Ourika.

The valley, flanked by terraced crops, narrows after Arhbalou. On the left stands the jbel Yagour (2726 m). More than a thousand rock engravings have been counted there. Probably prior to the 1st millennium BC, they show humans, animals, weapons, chariots and geometric designs.

You can follow the torrential waters of the Ourika valley to the Setti-Fatma waterfall, nestled in the heart of the High Atlas mountains at an altitude of 1500 m. Magnificent view on the valley and the Angour massif, which culminates at 3616 m of altitude.

We had a great time going to Ourika with Jawad, a beautiful drive to the mountains, followed by a guided tour up the mountain and watching the waterfall. We came back down and had lunch in a restaurant near the river. All in all, an excellent experience.

Beautiful and dynamic excursion. We also visited the Berber village and ate their typical Moroccan breakfast. After that, we did some hiking on the Atlas mountain which has a beautiful view. The organisation of the excursion is great, I would recommend it without hesitation.

Picked us up at our hotel. We went to visit an authentic Berber house and a community centre where we discovered argan oil and spices. Nice walk through Ourika and up to the big waterfall! Then we had dinner by the river. Very nice place wonderful guide! 100% recommended! !
